ACF Fiorentina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Ruscova the free kick. After 26 played minutes ACF Fiorentina got a freekick which was hit by Horacio Eutor. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Pastor Osoitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. ACF Fiorentina's supporters rose to their feet, but Pastor Osoitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marian Novăceanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Ruscova's attentive Iosif Filipoiu managed to snatch the ball when Marcelino Sedeni made a throw-in in the 33rd minute of the game. Maxim Hâjdău was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 37 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of FC Ruscova:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ACF Fiorentina:s goal. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for ACF Fiorentina. Pastor Osoitz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marian Novăceanu. 0-1. After 42 played minutes ACF Fiorentina got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Rey. After 44 played minutes FC Ruscova got a freekick which was hit by Mihnea Puric. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Gică Izvoranu made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes FC Ruscova got a freekick which was hit by Robert Crașovan. A hard shot by Mariano Rey from long distance, 59 minutes into the match, got Marian Novăceanu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. A sloppy throw-in by Sergio Domeka in the 61st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC Ruscova's Eusebiu Enciulescu. In the 62nd minute, ACF Fiorentina's Pastor Osoitz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marian Novăceanu. Marian Novăceanu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Marian Novăceanu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Horacio Eutor showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 71 minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Pastor Osoitz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marian Novăceanu, 0-5. In the 89th minute, Cayetano Berto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marian Novăceanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ACF Fiorentina eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
