After a rather tough play, Valette Stars's Gustave Chalot got a free kick in the 15th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Valette Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Breno Velloso came free, but Moïse Kerbrat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Breno Velloso's late challenge caught a Valette Stars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Breno Velloso helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Matungo Gaúcho's Breno Velloso got a free kick in the 17th minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé de Senna showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Théophile Cassin made the kick off in the second half. Dário da Cunha struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Moïse Kerbrat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matungo Gaúcho. After having played for 57 minutes, Théophile Cassin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valette Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Théophile Cassin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 60 minutes, Roland Tavares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Valette Stars and the Matungo Gaúcho players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zé de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrien Lagarde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
