Arnoldo Benvide received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Pedro Luiz da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Luiz da Cunha made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Joel Estefan sent off a good shot on target. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. When Chico de Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Danone CC's protests and gave Chico de Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead.
