An unexpectedly hard shot by Casimiro Iruinea in the 24th minute of play forced Danone CC's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz da Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th match minute, Danone CC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chico de Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Chico de Azevedo's late challenge caught a Ñacuñán AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Wágner Brodel made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Danone CC's zone, Constantino Gaufred stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Luiz da Cunha came out of the goal and Constantino Gaufred tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Danone CC's Kiko Moraes got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute, Zeca Meirelles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 56 minutes, Constantino Gaufred managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ñacuñán AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Constantino Gaufred was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
