The Quilmes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Melquiades Paz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. German Ourente came out and tried to block the shot, but Melquiades Paz slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 21st minute. Quilmes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rafaela FC the free kick. German Ourente showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Paz in the 44th minute of the match. A collision led to Rafaela FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Cristo Llin hit a great ball. Maximo Iratxo charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maximo Iratxo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 47 played minutes Rafaela FC got a freekick which was hit by Maximo Iratxo. Clemente Valerio struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. German Ourente didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quilmes. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

German Ourente dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. German Ourente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Lixandro in the 94th minute of play. Ovidio Txurio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ovidio Txurio got free with Jonathan Errapel in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Quilmes had played much better football throughout.
