Spectators: 7564 (Terracing: 5674, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 151) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Eugen Butuc kicked off to start the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aurelio Hitz got free with Narcis Cozorici in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 6th match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roman Kismi to maneuver through the defense. Roman Kismi kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Narcis Cozorici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Magdaleno in the 15th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Costin Șipoș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amancio Magdaleno to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Marius Cucerdean left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The White&Blue Lions-Stiinta- fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 27 minutes into the match, Eugen Butuc had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Danilo Frascuelo. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eugen Butuc was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. A collision led to White&Blue Lions-Stiinta- getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Costin Șipoș hit a great ball. Erasmo Fernendo struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Narcis Cozorici didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NEWELL´S OLD BOYS. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Danilo Frascuelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugen Butuc in the 36th minute of play. The supporters of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS booed when White&Blue Lions-Stiinta- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Marchiș didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Valentin Pamfil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Narcis Cozorici was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rene Bernabel. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amancio Magdaleno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Danilo Frascuelo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marius Cucerdean in the 54th minute. Aurelio Hitz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Narcis Cozorici having to make a save. Marius Cucerdean could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Danilo Frascuelo made a huge save. In the 60th minute of the match Petruț Duca sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danilo Frascuelo skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to White&Blue Lions-Stiinta- getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Petruț Duca hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, Roman Kismi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Erasmo Fernendo got a free kick in the 79th minute. Narcis Cozorici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Magdaleno in the 81st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's zone, Eugen Butuc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danilo Frascuelo came out of the goal and Eugen Butuc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd play minute Marius Cucerdean came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Danilo Frascuelo. 0-3. The White&Blue Lions-Stiinta- players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
