The supporters of ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO booed when Le Stade Briochin UC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herbert Dugas didn't get a good kick on the ball. When John-David Édouard fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Le Stade Briochin UC's protests and gave John-David Édouard a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Le Stade Briochin UC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. John-David Édouard hit a great ball. In the 12th match minute, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Diaz to maneuver through the defense. Jérémy Coutier was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Estefan Hernandez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Blond in the 20th minute of play forced ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goalkeeper Xabel Beloki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Estefan Hernandez dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 26th minute Freddy Blond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xabel Beloki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xabel Beloki showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Charles Le Brun hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Le Stade Briochin UC made a substitution. Bernard Grancher replaced Ferdinand Nau. After 49 played minutes Le Stade Briochin UC got a freekick which was hit by Charles Le Brun. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernard Grancher was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Abraham Hudry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Estefan Hernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's supporters rose to their feet, but Estefan Hernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jérémy Coutier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Freddy Blond took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Xabel Beloki to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Blond in the 65th minute of play forced ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goalkeeper Xabel Beloki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Claudio Diaz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Rafa Llorca was substituted for Claudio Diaz. If Freddy Blond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Freddy Blond notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Xabel Beloki. Xabel Beloki was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Llorian Cardeñosa hit a great ball. In the 87th minute of the match Mario Rabaud sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xabel Beloki skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Blond in the 91st minute of play forced ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goalkeeper Xabel Beloki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernard Grancher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Xabel Beloki made a huge save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO fans cheered their team off the field, for while Le Stade Briochin UC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
