In the 3rd minute Steven Holt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago Freixes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute, Lain Divaichin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steven Holt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Freixes having to interfere. Andrew Coyle came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo ScrugenFC's Marcial Mazule. But to his dismay, Marcial Mazule quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 18 minutes, Lain Divaichin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo ScrugenFC and the Lisburn Distillery F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th minute, Lain Divaichin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rex Morley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the match, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Rex Morley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiago Freixes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Shane Laverick in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Deportivo ScrugenFC's Eleazar Erauzquin. Tiago Freixes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leroy Broadhurst went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Steven Holt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Billy Holmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Tiago Freixes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Deportivo ScrugenFC's goalkeeper Tiago Freixes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rex Morley. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rex Morley was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 58 minutes, Marcial Mazule managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo ScrugenFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcial Mazule was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo ScrugenFC's goalkeeper Tiago Freixes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rex Morley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Tiago Freixes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Lain Divaichin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Marcial Mazule managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo ScrugenFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcial Mazule was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrew Coyle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leroy Broadhurst in the 90th minute of play forced Deportivo ScrugenFC's goalkeeper Tiago Freixes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcial Mazule struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Andrew Coyle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo ScrugenFC. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Lisburn Distillery F.C. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
