ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Xabel Beloki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO from getting a goal against them. In the 5th minute of the match Sportivo Constitución got a corner. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Siro Argenis ran over to the corner to take the kick. Xabel Beloki made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Eloy Igon sent off a good shot on target. In the 8th minute, Patricio Raymond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Rafa Llorca hit a great ball. Samuel Perez kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Llorian Cardeñosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The corner led Sportivo Constitución's Siro Argenis to fire away a dangerous shot which Xabel Beloki despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Constitución's Leon Barbosa got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Mané Aguado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Raymon having to interfere. After a rather tough play, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Claudio Diaz got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute, Siro Argenis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Leon Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sportivo Constitución's protests and gave Leon Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Sportivo Constitución got a freekick which was hit by Leon Barbosa. Haroldo Raymon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mané Aguado, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Xabel Beloki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Igon in the 34th minute of play. Xabel Beloki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romeo Telo in the 40th minute. Haroldo Raymon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mané Aguado in the 42nd minute of play. Rafa Llorca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 45 played minutes Sportivo Constitución got a freekick which was hit by Siro Argenis. In the 47th minute Siro Argenis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xabel Beloki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Siro Argenis to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Llorian Cardeñosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romeo Telo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xabel Beloki having to interfere. Xabel Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siro Argenis in the 53rd minute of play. The corner ended in Siro Argenis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Xabel Beloki did a great save. A collision led to Sportivo Constitución getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Eloy Igon hit a great ball. Sportivo Constitución's Alonzo Chumo was substituted for Romeo Telo. Eloy Igon hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Fábio Cartagena hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. If Eloy Igon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute Alonzo Chumo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xabel Beloki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafa Llorca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Haroldo Raymon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haroldo Raymon was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Rafa Llorca capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rafa Llorca really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. When Eloy Igon came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Sportivo Constitución fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eloy Igon couldn't finish the play. Haroldo Raymon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafa Llorca in the 87th minute of play. Xabel Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonzo Chumo in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Sportivo Constitución's Siro Argenis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 95th minute, Alonzo Chumo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sportivo Constitución fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
