José Vítor Nóbrega might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edvaldo de Sousa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Vítor Nóbrega ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 14 minutes, Tales Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter Gala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tales Alvarenga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edvaldo de Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giuseppe Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, Inter Gala's goal looked a bit too open when Caco Mota came free, but Faustão Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basílio Ferraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Vítor Nóbrega's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edvaldo de Sousa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Basílio Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Vítor Nóbrega to make the kick off. Osvaldo Soares charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osvaldo Soares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Osvaldo Soares hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renato Guimarães couldn't finish the play. After 73 minutes, Maurício Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inter Gala and the CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA booed when Inter Gala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Amadeu Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faustão Hermes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maurício Cruz got free with Edvaldo de Sousa in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Vítor Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Edvaldo de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edvaldo de Sousa made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Basílio Ferraz sent off a good shot on target. Inter Gala's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
