In the 19th minute, Eugênio Lago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Seterma Tractors's zone, Cosimo Genta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The supporters of Talenti Roma Calcio booed when Seterma Tractors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 played minutes, Talenti Roma Calcio's Emilio Raiola shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Túlio de Toledo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Talenti Roma Calcio reached it. When André Luiz Cerezo came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Seterma Tractors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luiz Cerezo couldn't finish the play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eugênio Lago made a kick off. Túlio de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Garofoli in the 55th minute of the match. Dario Orioli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Cosimo Genta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Túlio de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
