The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Angelo Marchegiani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonzo Vincente in the 7th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Seme in the 8th minute of play forced Gladiator FC's goalkeeper Angelo Marchegiani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gladiator FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alonzo Vincente was slow to take the kick. During this time Formentera's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Formentera's Alonzo Vincente to fire away a dangerous shot which Angelo Marchegiani despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Angelo Marchegiani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonzo Vincente in the 21st minute of play. Prudencio Otsoko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabiano Tatangelo in the 23rd minute of play. Alonzo Vincente hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After 32 minutes Gladiator FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alonzo Vincente who took care of the corner kick. Arnulfo Seme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Angelo Marchegiani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After taking down the ball on Formentera's corner Alonzo Vincente fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Angelo Marchegiani quite easily take care of the ball. After 81 played minutes, Formentera's Alonzo Vincente shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Angelo Marchegiani came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Formentera reached it. Angelo Marchegiani was a little too slow when Pastor Oriche got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 0-1. 93 minutes into the match, Gladiator FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Oriche came free, but Angelo Marchegiani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angelo Marchegiani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pastor Oriche in the 95th minute of the match. Formentera played a much better game than Gladiator FC and deserved their victory. The Gladiator FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
