In the 2nd minute Fulgencio Shepherd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, O MOTIVO ⚽'s goalkeeper Adalberto Figueiredo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Milton Giménez. With a little luck, O MOTIVO ⚽'s Adalberto Figueiredo got control of the ball when Milton Giménez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute Fulgencio Shepherd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the game, Fausto Abarca recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Adalberto Figueiredo. Fausto Abarca showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Milton Giménezs short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Adalberto Figueiredo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 19th minute, Milton Giménez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st match minute, Abuba Akotonon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Suarez to maneuver through the defense. Abuba Akotonon FC were furious when Sixto Birjaio was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 23rd minute, Sixto Birjaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute Fábio Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Txeru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abuba Akotonon FC's Benicio Txeru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válter Mattos in the 27th minute of play. Adalberto Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulgencio Shepherd in the 34th minute of play. Adalberto Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fulgencio Shepherd in the 35th minute of the match. André Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After 36 minutes, Fausto Abarca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abuba Akotonon FC and the O MOTIVO ⚽ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th match minute, Abuba Akotonon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Abarca to maneuver through the defense. Válter Mattos kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Fulgencio Shepherd blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adalberto Figueiredo having to make a save.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Washington Silva was the one to do the kick off. Abuba Akotonon FC's Benicio Txeru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Abuba Akotonon FC from getting a goal against them. In the 59th minute, Fulgencio Shepherd made a precise shot to the right of Adalberto Figueiredo. O MOTIVO ⚽'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Fulgencio Shepherd struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Adalberto Figueiredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abuba Akotonon FC. André Batista charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed André Batista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. André Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Shepherd in the 68th minute of play forced O MOTIVO ⚽'s goalkeeper Adalberto Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Manuel Maciel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Fausto Abarca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abuba Akotonon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Abarca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adalberto Figueiredo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in O MOTIVO ⚽'s zone, Fausto Abarca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adalberto Figueiredo came out of the goal and Fausto Abarca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adalberto Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Peruanton in the 74th minute of play. When Válter Mattos fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored O MOTIVO ⚽'s protests and gave Válter Mattos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to O MOTIVO ⚽ getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Válter Mattos hit a great ball. Fulgencio Shepherd blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adalberto Figueiredo having to make a save. If Fulgencio Shepherd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute Washington Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Txeru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. O MOTIVO ⚽'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
