Spectators: 7738 (Terracing: 5805, Seating: 1779, VIP seats: 154) After 5 minutes, Basílio do Valle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SE Palmeiras and the Independente FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 5 played minutes SE Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Basílio do Valle. The audience was convinced that Germano Araújo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nilson Dracena was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Basílio do Valle took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nestor Quintal. Nestor Quintal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 16 minutes, Mateus Pitta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SE Palmeiras and the Independente FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to SE Palmeiras getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Agostinho Tepedino hit a great ball. The supporters of Independente FC booed when SE Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio do Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nilson Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Vítor Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 played minutes Independente FC got a freekick which was hit by Benedito Trancoso. After 41 minutes of play, Independente FC's José Vítor Rodrigues made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nilson Dracena was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 45 minutes, Germano Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independente FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Germano Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Germano Araújo to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, SE Palmeiras's Nilson Dracena got control of the ball when José Vítor Rodrigues tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Vítor Rodrigues succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 56th playminute. Basílio do Valle hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Nilson Dracena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ezequiel Barral in the 62nd minute. The supporters of Independente FC booed when SE Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Vítor Rodrigues in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nilson Dracena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Nilson Dracena managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Independente FC's José Vítor Rodrigues fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Germano Araújo in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nilson Dracena saved SE Palmeiras from getting behind. Ian Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Nestor Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Independente FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. José Vítor Rodrigues hit a great ball. Nestor Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. SE Palmeiras succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Independente FC had controlled the match.
