Dwayne Clement received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Zeferino Távora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Diego Mendonça cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Bradly Gray was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Tasso FC's Diego Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bradly Gray. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Tasso FC's Roberto Ribeiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bradly Gray. That made the score 3-0 after 27 minutes of play. In the 30th match minute, Tasso FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. DeMarcus Sandoval's late challenge caught a Tasso FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The coaching staff of New England Minas protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Oscar Price had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in New England Minas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! Zeferino Távora showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Keith Braxton, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 42nd match minute, Tasso FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Domingues to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Tasso FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. António Belo hit a great ball. After 46 minutes of play, New England Minas's Keith Braxton made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeferino Távora was left in no man's land by his defense there! Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Keith Braxton to make the kick off. New England Minas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Brice Wang in the 59th minute. In the 65th minute, one of Tasso FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tasso FC. In the 66th minute there was a penalty for New England Minas. Brice Wang stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zeferino Távora. 4-2. 70 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Mendonça came free, but Bradly Gray reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeferino Távora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Jennings in the 80th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Keith Braxton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Zeferino Távora was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gustavo Bacelar kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith Braxton in the 98th minute of play forced Tasso FC's goalkeeper Zeferino Távora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tasso FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
