Alexander Strzelczyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inocencio Theobald, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Kassian Rinke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Alonzo Romano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Constantin Brenner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alonzo Romano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Andres Emmanuel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Strzelczyk having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Magallanes's Alberto Cordeal got a free kick in the 19th minute. Alexander Strzelczyk didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 24th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Inocencio Theobald managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Magallanes's supporters rose to their feet, but Inocencio Theobald was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexander Strzelczyk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jens Müller kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SSV Ulm 1846's Jens Müller got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Alonzo Romano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kassian Rinke in the 35th minute of play. Alonzo Romano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ingolf Riechel went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

51 minutes in the game, Ingolf Riechel fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Alonzo Romano having to interfere. After 59 played minutes SSV Ulm 1846 got a freekick which was hit by Roque Rosenbauer. SSV Ulm 1846's Alexander Strzelczyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeo Confesor in the 61st minute of play. After 65 played minutes SSV Ulm 1846 got a freekick which was hit by Fridun Schwedt. 66 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goal looked a bit too open when Romeo Confesor came free, but Alexander Strzelczyk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexander Strzelczyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Confesor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd match minute, SSV Ulm 1846 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kassian Rinke to maneuver through the defense. Andres Emmanuel struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Alexander Strzelczyk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Magallanes. 83 minutes into the match, Romeo Confesor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexander Strzelczyk. SSV Ulm 1846's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romeo Confesor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. SSV Ulm 1846's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
