After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Ovidiu Borza got a free kick in the 13th minute. After 14 played minutes, ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Octav Glăvan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edgar Coposu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ASF BAIA MARE -MM- reached it. Laurențiu Muntean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nae Morar having to interfere. When Basarab Spoială came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the ASF BAIA MARE -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basarab Spoială couldn't finish the play. Edgar Coposu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octav Glăvan in the 31st minute of the match. Octav Glăvan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Laurențiu Muntean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s zone, Laurențiu Muntean stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nae Morar came out of the goal and Laurențiu Muntean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Octav Glăvan made the kick off in the second half. Matei Giosu kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After 68 minutes of play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Traian Lupescu made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nae Morar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Basarab Spoială kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 74th minute Irinel Itoafă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nae Morar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nae Morar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurențiu Muntean, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Edgar Coposu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emil Floruțiu's shot from short distance in the 77th minute.
