Valentin Aureo hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matei Giosu in the 7th minute of play forced Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's goalkeeper Ariel Nel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cleto Indalecio's late challenge caught a Stiinta-Univ.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cleto Indalecio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th match minute, Deportivo Pomelo Nenene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleto Indalecio to maneuver through the defense. Stiinta-Univ.'s Edgar Coposu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Aureo in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's goal looked a bit too open when Matei Giosu came free, but Ariel Nel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Ariel Nel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matei Giosu in the 23rd minute of play. Ariel Nel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Traian Lupescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 27 minutes Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Irinel Itoafă who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Stiinta-Univ.'s Traian Lupescu to a score. 0-1 in the 27th minute. In the 33rd minute, Irinel Itoafă left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stiinta-Univ. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Ariel Nel came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Stiinta-Univ.'s Irinel Itoafă. But to his dismay, Irinel Itoafă quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Ariel Nel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matei Giosu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Matei Giosu made the kick off in the second half. If Traian Lupescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Matei Giosu 55 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. Cleto Indalecio hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 66th match minute, Deportivo Pomelo Nenene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basilio Corderun to maneuver through the defense. When Irinel Itoafă came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Stiinta-Univ. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Irinel Itoafă couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Stiinta-Univ. booed when Deportivo Pomelo Nenene was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eloy Suarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matei Giosu struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Ariel Nel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stiinta-Univ.. After 72 minutes, Martin Balesio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Pomelo Nenene and the Stiinta-Univ. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 72 played minutes Deportivo Pomelo Nenene got a freekick which was hit by Martin Balesio. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Ariel Nel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matei Giosu in the 73rd minute of play. If Laurențiu Muntean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ariel Nel made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Laurențiu Muntean sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Matei Giosu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stiinta-Univ.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Matei Giosu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ariel Nel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Ariel Nel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Pomelo Nenene from getting a goal against them. Ariel Nel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irinel Itoafă in the 94th minute of play. Laurențiu Muntean struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Ariel Nel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stiinta-Univ.. When the match was over Stiinta-Univ. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Deportivo Pomelo Nenene throughout the match.
