The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Carlinhos Baiano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 15 minutes into the match, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Kullgren came free, but Antônio Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tim Sandell hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Patrick Almkvist was a little too slow when Délio Coelho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlinhos Baiano in the 26th minute of play forced NovaStella FK's goalkeeper Patrick Almkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlinhos Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Patrick Almkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Clube Atl. Taquaritinga got a freekick which was hit by Cafu de Amorim. Sven-Åke Hellström took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Antônio Ferreira. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Erling Hellkvist charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erling Hellkvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to NovaStella FK getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Erling Hellkvist hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a little luck, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Antônio Ferreira got control of the ball when Erling Hellkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Antônio Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Åke Hellström in the 57th minute of play. Patrick Almkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Cafu de Amorim got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Antônio Ferreira was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tim Sandell. Antônio Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Hellkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antônio Ferreira came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by NovaStella FK's Erling Hellkvist. But to his dismay, Erling Hellkvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Matthias Lindmark kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Patrick Almkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Sabóia in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Sabóia in the 81st minute of play forced NovaStella FK's goalkeeper Patrick Almkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, NovaStella FK's Hannes Holmberg got a free kick in the 82nd minute. If Celso Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick Almkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Sabóia in the 92nd minute of play. After 96 played minutes NovaStella FK got a freekick which was hit by Matthias Lindmark. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga had won after a very even match.
