The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Clube Atlético Paulista's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jenipapo SC the free kick. After 5 played minutes, Jenipapo SC's Percy Lopes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elano Amorim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jenipapo SC reached it. 7 minutes into the game, Valdir Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jenipapo SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percy Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Jenipapo SC's Wanderson Valadares got a free kick in the 10th minute. After some careless play in the Clube Atlético Paulista defense, Cafu Catarinense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elano Amorim. The Clube Atlético Paulista fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elano Amorim should have stopped the shot. In the 16th match minute, Jenipapo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Passos to maneuver through the defense. Matheus Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's Percy Lopes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Kaká Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred da Silva in the 25th minute of the match. Elano Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cacá Brodel in the 34th minute of play. Tomás Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cafu Catarinense hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cafu Catarinense to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match, Alberto Couto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Elano Amorim saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The crowd rose to their feet as Jenipapo SC's Cafu Catarinense slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Elano Amorim. That made the score 0-3 after 67 minutes of play. In the 75th match minute, Clube Atlético Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. Jenipapo SC's Percy Lopes shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 77th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Elano Amorim but with some difficulty. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Cafu Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jenipapo SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cafu Catarinense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elano Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Válbson Munhoz was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 87 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Paulista's Válbson Munhoz got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 93rd minute Wilian Rosado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaká Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jenipapo SC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
