Spectators: 7736 (Terracing: 5803, Seating: 1779, VIP seats: 154) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rogelio Madeo kicked off to start the match. With a little luck, Buritama Sports's Genílson Porto got control of the ball when Mateo Gonzo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Vélez Juniors booed when Buritama Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enrique Urtsin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Hernan Gonchan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Genílson Porto. That made the score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. Willian Pernambucano charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willian Pernambucano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 22nd match minute, Buritama Sports was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willian Pernambucano to maneuver through the defense. When Sergio Gai came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Vélez Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergio Gai couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Buritama Sports getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Pedro Augusto Fontes hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Willian Pernambucano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enrique Urtsin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Hernan Gonchan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Genílson Porto firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Pedro Augusto Fontes came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Buritama Sports fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Augusto Fontes couldn't finish the play. Carlos Lleir kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Enrique Urtsin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willian Pernambucano in the 45th minute of play. Edgar Santana hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Willian Pernambucano to strike the kick off in the second half. Willian Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 57 minutes, Rogelio Madeo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vélez Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Madeo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mateo Gonzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genílson Porto having to interfere. Genílson Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Serafo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th match minute, Buritama Sports was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Santana to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute, Sergio Gai sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Buritama Sports's Genílson Porto didn't even have to move. 69 minutes into the game, Vélez Juniors's Emilio Serafo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Genílson Porto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Hernan Gonchan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genílson Porto having to interfere. In the 76thth minute of the game Gino Azevedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vélez Juniors's Enrique Urtsin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Gilberto Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genílson Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Serafo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogelio Madeo placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Abel Falcão hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Rogelio Madeo struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Genílson Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vélez Juniors. 87 minutes into the match, Buritama Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Madeo came free, but Genílson Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hernan Gonchan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genílson Porto having to interfere. In the 98th minute, Rogelio Madeo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Vélez Juniors had won after a very even match.
