After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Ionuț Baran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Minerul Baita -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Ionuț Baran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walter Entia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Xian Olmedilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Cioroianu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Walter Entia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Minerul Baita -MM- booed when West Town SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldo Raimundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd match minute, West Town SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neicer Pesquera to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute, Emanuel Cioroianu made a precise shot to the right of Walter Entia. West Town SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Maximo Marine kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Walter Entia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Cioroianu in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th match minute, West Town SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orfilio Esqueda to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in West Town SC's zone, Emanuel Cioroianu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walter Entia came out of the goal and Emanuel Cioroianu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Dorin Costandin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rodolfo Falconi kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Anton Savin made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Maximo Marine sent off a good shot on target. After 47 minutes, Tudor Hobjilă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Minerul Baita -MM- and the West Town SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th minute, Tudor Hobjilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Neicer Pesquera in the 48th minute really tested Anton Savin's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Anton Savin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xian Olmedilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xian Olmedilla in the 85th minute of play forced Minerul Baita -MM-'s goalkeeper Anton Savin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walter Entia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Merișor in the 91st minute.
