In the 45th minute, Timmy Ström reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Irving Dennis. The goal made the score 1-2. After the first half Sport Lisboa e Benfica were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antonia Webb to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Timmy Ström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Irving Dennis was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Wilfred Fleming's late challenge caught a Hawk Tuah FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
