In the 4th minute János Oltean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Bernad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 25 minutes, Samuel Bikendi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sacro Balompié and the Academia Rio players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Academia Rio booed when Sacro Balompié was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Bikendi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that János Oltean's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aaron Bernad was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaudencio Medero in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Genaro Leguizamón took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iurie Mutu. Iurie Mutu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Academia Rio's János Oltean, in the 43rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Academia Rio. 45 minutes into the match, Sacro Balompié's goal looked a bit too open when Sever Vintilescu came free, but Aaron Bernad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cesar Lauro was the one to do the kick off.
