The referee felt a red card was in order, 38 minutes into the game, when Krzysztof Grucza put in a rough tackle. After 39 played minutes White Star Troopers got a freekick which was hit by Krzysztof Grucza. When Murillo Ferreira came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Guararapes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murillo Ferreira couldn't finish the play. Marcin Witwicki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Tavares in the 41st minute of the match. Marcin Witwicki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogério Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aníbal Tavares in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcin Witwicki saved White Star Troopers from getting behind. Rogério Pimenta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Marcin Witwicki made a huge save. Marcin Witwicki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Tavares in the 64th minute of play. After 71 minutes, Leszek Pasterski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the White Star Troopers and the Guararapes players grew even worse after the yellow card. White Star Troopers's Marcin Witwicki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save White Star Troopers from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Guararapes booed when White Star Troopers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikolaj Literski didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Guararapes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Guararapes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
