The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luís Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão Vidal in the 3rd minute of the match. Conrado Leite charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Tiago Gabriel Fernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Cléberson Hermes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luizão Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. A collision led to AnÐaRaHy getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Sandrinho Martins hit a great ball. Guararapes's Luís Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Vidal in the 34th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Raúl de Amorim kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Remo Freitas. That made the score 1-0 in the 35 minute of play. The supporters of Guararapes booed when AnÐaRaHy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anísio Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogério Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Remo Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 42 minutes, Zé Pedro Cearense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AnÐaRaHy and the Guararapes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raúl de Amorim stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Remo Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl de Amorim in the 54th minute of play. Luís Corrêa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cléberson Hermes went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Luís Corrêa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luizão Vidal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 62 minute of play. Chicão Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Luís Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Aníbal Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 79 played minutes Guararapes got a freekick which was hit by Célio Cosme. After a defensive mix-up in Guararapes's zone, Jacinto Campidelis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Corrêa came out of the goal and Jacinto Campidelis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Guararapes's Luís Corrêa got control of the ball when Luizão Vidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. AnÐaRaHy played a much better game than Guararapes and deserved their victory. The Guararapes players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
