Nigel Willemse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Menchu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bart Speelman came free, but Filiberto Etxeberri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nigel Willemse got free with Filiberto Etxeberri in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 19 minutes, Edgard Baldovino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Menchu FC and the FFC Merainies 03 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th minute, Edgard Baldovino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Filiberto Etxeberri acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 20th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Timo Korfs. In the 34th minute, Bart Speelman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filiberto Etxeberri was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Nigel Willemse received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Filiberto Etxeberri came out and tried to block the shot, but Nigel Willemse slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 36th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgard Baldovino to make the kick off. Bart Speelman might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filiberto Etxeberri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronny Deinse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filiberto Etxeberri having to interfere. Menchu FC's Filiberto Etxeberri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nigel Willemse in the 82nd minute of play. The supporters of FFC Merainies 03 booed when Menchu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas Fonda didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Menchu FC's zone, Thijs Oosterveld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filiberto Etxeberri came out of the goal and Thijs Oosterveld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Filiberto Etxeberri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nigel Willemse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, Nigel Willemse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filiberto Etxeberri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nigel Willemse in the 93rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bart Speelman in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filiberto Etxeberri saved Menchu FC from getting behind. 96 minutes into the match, Edgard Baldovino notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of FFC Merainies 03's Fabrice Bemmel. Fabrice Bemmel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
