Spectators: 7742 (Terracing: 5808, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 154) Roncourt's Antoine Gambier started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Humberto Guerau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Messager having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Club El Progreso's zone, Romuald Hugonnet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florencio Jaen came out of the goal and Romuald Hugonnet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Humberto Guerau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Romuald Hugonnet fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Roncourt's protests and gave Romuald Hugonnet a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th match minute, Roncourt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romuald Hugonnet to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Club El Progreso's Artemio Hegoi tried to score from far away in the 13th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Jean-Pierre Riche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roncourt's Gabriel Messager played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Hegoi in the 15th minute of play. After 19 played minutes Club El Progreso got a freekick which was hit by Edgardo Lastur. After some careless play in the Club El Progreso defense, Antoine Gambier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florencio Jaen. The Club El Progreso fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florencio Jaen should have stopped the shot. Romuald Hugonnet might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florencio Jaen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romuald Hugonnet ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 30th minute, Artemio Hegoi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club El Progreso fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 33 minutes into the match, Roncourt's goal looked a bit too open when Artemio Hegoi came free, but Gabriel Messager reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florencio Jaen made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Antoine Gambier sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute, Brendan Pouillaude hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 43 played minutes, Club El Progreso's Edgardo Lastur shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gabriel Messager came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club El Progreso reached it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Humberto Guerau to strike the kick off in the second half. Roncourt's Antoine Gambier got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roncourt made a substitution. Brendan Playe replaced Gaspard Cazeneuve. Florencio Jaen came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Roncourt's Hubert Donnet. But to his dismay, Hubert Donnet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 71st minute, Edgardo Lastur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florencio Jaen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Pierre Riche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Roncourt's Jean-Pierre Riche in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club El Progreso's goalie prevented a goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 86 minutes into the game, when Samuel Ducrocq put in a rough tackle. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Roncourt fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club El Progreso had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
