Club El Progreso's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baptiste Bazin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Humberto Guerau kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gabriel Messager. That made the score 1-1 in the 8 minute of play. Florencio Jaen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charly Royon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Club El Progreso's goal looked a bit too open when Baptiste Bazin came free, but Florencio Jaen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th match minute, Club El Progreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apolo Ramos to maneuver through the defense. Roncourt were furious when Éloi Derrien was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 45 played minutes Roncourt got a freekick which was hit by Éloi Derrien. Gabriel Messager made an important save on a dangerous shot by Artemio Hegoi in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antoine Gambier to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Club El Progreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomero Salomon to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Club El Progreso's zone, Antoine Gambier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florencio Jaen came out of the goal and Antoine Gambier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Antoine Gambier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antoine Gambier received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Florencio Jaen came out and tried to block the shot, but Antoine Gambier slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 69th minute. In the 72nd match minute, Roncourt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charly Royon to maneuver through the defense. Apolo Ramos struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Gabriel Messager didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club El Progreso. In the 78th minute, Mauro Vergaray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Pierre-Emmanuel Tanghe in the 78th minute really tested Florencio Jaen's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Edgardo Lastur hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After having played for 86 minutes, Antoine Gambier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Roncourt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antoine Gambier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roncourt succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Club El Progreso had controlled the match.
