C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Marco Marinho came free, but Marcelinho Matorin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexilhão F. C.'s Marcelinho Matorin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Marinho in the 7th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edu Siqueira got free with Nildo Messias in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12th minute, SÃO JORGE FC - CIMZ's Manoel Correia seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Manoel Correia the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SÃO JORGE FC - CIMZ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Manoel Correia had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. If João Francisco Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mexilhão F. C.'s Marcelinho Matorin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Ferreira in the 19th minute of play. Serafim de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Marcelinho Matorin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelinho Matorin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiaguinho Gaúcho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Saldanha helped the player get up and apologised.
