Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Linköpings AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolphe Huck came free, but Jonatan Andersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonatan Andersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolphe Huck, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, Gustave Icard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The R.C. Marseille fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blaise Castera in the 43rd minute of play forced Linköpings AIK's goalkeeper Jonatan Andersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blaise Castera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Jonatan Andersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Blaise Castera to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Linköpings AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Blaise Castera came free, but Jonatan Andersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Blaise Castera helped the player get up and apologised. Blaise Castera kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After 66 played minutes Linköpings AIK got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Simonsson. When Blaise Castera was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. After 68 played minutes R.C. Marseille got a freekick which was hit by Blaise Castera. Gustave Icard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Jonatan Andersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute of the match, Gustave Icard got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jonatan Andersson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Olov Bock's late challenge caught a R.C. Marseille's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olov Bock helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Linköpings AIK's Olov Bock got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Thomas Gascon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt-Åke Thidén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bengt-Åke Thidén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Linköpings AIK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. R.C. Marseille were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
