Marseille's Thomas Gascon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save R.C. Marseille from getting a goal against them.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Algirdas Jurys was the one to do the kick off. When Vladas Sargūnas came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Hexo Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladas Sargūnas couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blaise Castera got free with Anicetas Eidukonis in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Blaise Castera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, R.C. Marseille's Omar Suchet got a free kick in the 86th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Hexo Utd were victorious despite being under pressure from R.C. Marseille for much of the match.
