Sérgio Quinaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaert De Coster having to interfere. In the 12th minute of the match Frederic Verduijn sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Egídio Loureiro skillfully saved the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Minho FC's Sérgio Quinaz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Reinaert De Coster. That made the score 1-0 after 17 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Minho FC's zone, Frederic Verduijn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egídio Loureiro came out of the goal and Frederic Verduijn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Minho FC booed when KFC Vliegplein was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thys Helsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 34 minutes, Frederic Verduijn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KFC Vliegplein and the Minho FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Vliegplein's zone, Sérgio Quinaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaert De Coster came out of the goal and Sérgio Quinaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 36 played minutes KFC Vliegplein got a freekick which was hit by Thys Helsen. The supporters of Minho FC booed when KFC Vliegplein was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remi Raeijmaeckers didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Minho FC's João Vilas Boas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 45 minutes into the match, KFC Vliegplein's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Varela came free, but Reinaert De Coster reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

52 minutes into the game, Domingos Passos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Minho FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Vliegplein the free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sérgio Quinaz in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reinaert De Coster prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sérgio Quinaz in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reinaert De Coster saved KFC Vliegplein from getting behind. 60 minutes into the match, Marco Varela had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reinaert De Coster. KFC Vliegplein's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Varela was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After having played for 63 minutes, Frederic Verduijn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Vliegplein's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frederic Verduijn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th match minute, KFC Vliegplein was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thys Helsen to maneuver through the defense. Heitor Seixas kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Ramiro Fernandes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reinaert De Coster. KFC Vliegplein's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ramiro Fernandes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Sérgio Quinaz took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reinaert De Coster. Reinaert De Coster dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After a rather tough play, KFC Vliegplein's Remi Raeijmaeckers got a free kick in the 87th minute. The supporters of KFC Vliegplein booed when Minho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caio Ponte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Minho FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
