The crowd rose to their feet as SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Heimko Schober slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Damian Vieru. That made the score 1-0 after 26 minutes of play. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Bruce Pesch got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 34 minutes into the match, Emerald's Costin Frânculescu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. Emerald's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. the free kick. The supporters of SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. booed when Emerald was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Guguianu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 45 played minutes SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Osterhagen. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristian Guguianu to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruce Pesch in the 53rd minute of play forced Emerald's goalkeeper Damian Vieru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Ture Nadolski got a free kick in the 54th minute. Roger Dohmen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Vieru having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Heimko Schober in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damian Vieru saved Emerald from getting behind. Damian Vieru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Pesch, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Damian Vieru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Heimko Schober's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Cazimir Udubaşa kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Bruce Pesch struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Damian Vieru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Freiburg 1904 e.V..
