Panait Emilianu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Calistrat Goma kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Panait Emilianu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dragoş Sălcudeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Sporting Royal's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Cristian Guguianu scored to the left of an out of position Panait Emilianu, making the score, 1-0. After some careless play in the Emerald defense, Iosif Prezan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damian Vieru. The Emerald fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damian Vieru should have stopped the shot. Sporting Royal's Panait Emilianu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dragoş Sălcudeanu in the 35th minute of play. Calistrat Goma's late challenge caught a Emerald's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Calistrat Goma helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 40 minutes, Nichifor Onișoru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Emerald's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nichifor Onișoru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paul Rainea took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Damian Vieru. Damian Vieru dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Emerald's goalkeeper Damian Vieru, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half Sporting Royal were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

53 minutes into the match, Emerald's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Rainea came free, but Damian Vieru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 55 played minutes Sporting Royal got a freekick which was hit by Costin Tănăsocă. Nichifor Onișoru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Panait Emilianu having to interfere. Sporting Royal's Ernest Mihăileanu was substituted for Isac Flamaropol. Sporting Royal made a substitution. Iustin Stolnicu replaced Nicodim Lunca. Panait Emilianu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dragoş Sălcudeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 65 minutes, Dragoş Sălcudeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Emerald's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dragoş Sălcudeanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Guguianu in the 67th minute of play forced Sporting Royal's goalkeeper Panait Emilianu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Emerald's goalkeeper Damian Vieru had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paul Rainea. In the 71st minute, Grigore Pacurar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Damian Vieru was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After a rather tough play, Emerald's Victor Angheluș got a free kick in the 75th minute. Ernest Mihăileanu kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After 79 played minutes, Emerald's Costin Frânculescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Panait Emilianu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Emerald reached it. A collision led to Emerald getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Paul Condescu hit a great ball. Sorin Jitaru hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 95th match minute, Sporting Royal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grigore Pacurar to maneuver through the defense.
