The supporters of FC Steaua Pildesti booed when FC Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horea Ştati didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, FC Buzău's goal looked a bit too open when Gheorghe Vlăsiu came free, but Gheorghe Vărzaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gheorghe Vărzaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gheorghe Vlăsiu in the 32nd minute of the match. When Gavril Groza fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Buzău's protests and gave Gavril Groza a yellow card for diving instead. Gheorghe Vărzaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Buș, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 41 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goal looked a bit too open when Costel Dorineanu came free, but Eric Frântu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. In the 69th match minute, FC Steaua Pildesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Buș to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FC Steaua Pildesti getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Cornel Rogozea hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, FC Buzău's Horea Ştati tried to score from far away in the 85th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Cosmin Leucuța charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When the match was over FC Steaua Pildesti could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Buzău throughout the match.
