Spectators: 7756 (Terracing: 5819, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 154) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Emanuel Tiberiu kicked off to start the match. Nicolaas Deschrijver hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 3rd minute of the match Marcel Cristache shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rudy Panhuijsen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Meys in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petruț Ţopescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Petruț Ţopescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Meys in the 16th minute of the match. If Cristian Dorian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Dorian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Dorian charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristian Dorian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rudy Panhuijsen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mugur Gorcea's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Rudy Panhuijsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Nenciu in the 34th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Delphine Stars's Costică Ciorăscu got a free kick in the 37th minute. Christian Meys's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petruț Ţopescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Dorian got free with Rudy Panhuijsen in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christian Meys stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arnold Wyns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Mugur Gorcea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudy Panhuijsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Dorian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudy Panhuijsen having to interfere. With his leg Petruț Ţopescu managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Brugge United's Christian Meys fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Delphine Stars booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Meys didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Costel Cobzeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camiel Hennes during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Camiel Hennes kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Brugge United defense, Emanuel Tiberiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rudy Panhuijsen. The Brugge United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rudy Panhuijsen should have stopped the shot. Brugge United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
