When Albino Froylan fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's protests and gave Albino Froylan a yellow card for diving instead. Albino Froylan hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, De Digitale Dribbelaars's Foeke Palsma got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 47th minute, John Ijkwezen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Harris Staarman to strike the kick off in the second half. The De Digitale Dribbelaars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vincent Wekenburg should have stopped the shot.
