The Carqueja fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Salbatore Guaras should have stopped the shot. Lope Villandiego might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Shaun Cassar Torreggiani. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lope Villandiego ran back to his position shaking his head. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The supporters of Attard Gunners booed when Carqueja was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damaso Tejeyra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Urki Olivera scored 2-1 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shaun Cassar Torreggiani, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
