With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeronimo Pudes in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dida Mazza saved Proteu from getting behind. After 10 minutes, Murilo Ferreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Proteu and the Deportivo Diamante U18 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 played minutes Proteu got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Ferreira. In the 13th minute Vladimiro Juvenal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Antônio Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jeronimo Pudes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Mazza was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. The Deportivo Diamante U18 fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Deportivo Diamante U18's Jeronimo Pudes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 23 played minutes Deportivo Diamante U18 got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Chus. Bernardinho Corrêa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eriberto Sindo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. If Vladimiro Juvenal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ricardo Chus fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Diamante U18's protests and gave Ricardo Chus a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Proteu booed when Deportivo Diamante U18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Chus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernardinho Corrêa struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Eriberto Sindo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Proteu. Enéas Pontes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 31st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 36th minute, Jeronimo Pudes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dida Mazza was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Dida Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasio Javiero in the 39th minute of play. The Proteu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Deportivo Diamante U18 were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Gugu Tasso made the kick off in the second half. Jeronimo Pudes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Dida Mazza made a huge save. In the 66th minute Vladimiro Juvenal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vladimiro Juvenal in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Mazza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 70 minutes, Gugu Tasso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Proteu and the Deportivo Diamante U18 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Proteu's Gugu Tasso got a free kick in the 70th minute. Dida Mazza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vladimiro Juvenal in the 72nd minute. Anastasio Javiero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Dida Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dida Mazza came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Diamante U18's Jeronimo Pudes. But to his dismay, Jeronimo Pudes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 85 minutes into the match, Proteu's goal looked a bit too open when Jeronimo Pudes came free, but Dida Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeronimo Pudes came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dida Mazza could save by the left post. Dida Mazza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeronimo Pudes's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Bernardinho Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Sindo having to interfere. The Deportivo Diamante U18 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
