Paulinho de Godoi hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Chelsicha's Dedê Terra got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 8th minute, Róbert Tamás left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gyál United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, Chelsicha's goal looked a bit too open when Róbert Vajda came free, but Alfredinho Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Gyál United's Róbert Tamás got a free kick in the 12th minute. Tibor Kerékgyártó kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After 21 minutes of play, Gyál United's János Döbrögi made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredinho Pereira was left in no man's land by his defense there! 27 minutes into the game, Gyál United's Róbert Tamás nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfredinho Pereira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. A collision led to Gyál United getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. János Döbrögi hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Róbert Tamás ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredinho Pereira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Gyál United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chelsicha:s goal. When the match had been going on for 39 minutes, Chelsicha's José Carlos Carneiro got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sándor Jászberényi. Alfredinho Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbert Tamás, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell János Döbrögi to make the kick off. Chelsicha's Alfredinho Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ottó Gyarmati in the 70th minute of play. After 72 minutes, Renan França mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chelsicha and the Gyál United players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Chelsicha getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Renan França hit a great ball. Róbert Vajda's late challenge caught a Chelsicha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Róbert Vajda helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd match minute, Gyál United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Róbert Vajda to maneuver through the defense. After 87 played minutes Gyál United got a freekick which was hit by Róbert Vajda. Sándor Jászberényi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Renato Penha in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Sebastião Paraense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-4. Sándor Jászberényi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gyál United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
