An unexpectedly hard shot by Iskandar Laycock in the 4th minute of play forced Roceira SC's goalkeeper Romeu Negri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romeu Negri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iskandar Laycock in the 6th minute of the match. When Iskandar Laycock came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Oakham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iskandar Laycock couldn't finish the play. Danish Henderson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeu Negri having to make a save. After some careless play in the Oakham defense, Décio Mendes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Seah. The Oakham fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Seah should have stopped the shot. Percival Toscano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Daniel Seah made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ian Vieira got free with Daniel Seah in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot by Décio Mendes from long distance, 23 minutes into the match, got Daniel Seah's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Romeu Negri came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Oakham's Iskandar Laycock. But to his dismay, Iskandar Laycock quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of Roceira SC booed when Oakham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ang Seng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romeu Negri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iskandar Laycock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Serginho de Souza fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Roceira SC's protests and gave Serginho de Souza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute Iskandar Laycock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roceira SC's Romeu Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iskandar Laycock in the 41st minute of play. Romeu Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danish Henderson in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Décio Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ian Vieira was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Wilson Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
