The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Hellström in the 3rd minute of play forced Liga de Quito's goalkeeper Zeledon Bravain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Liga de Quito's Zeledon Bravain got control of the ball when Johan Fristedt tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 7th minute, Zeruko Freije hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zeledon Bravain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johan Fristedt in the 14th minute of the match. After 17 played minutes Liga de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Victor Andino. With a little luck, Liga de Quito's Zeledon Bravain got control of the ball when Stefan Hellström tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Leandro Cianca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute Eduardo Mascareñas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rikard Lekberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Velasco Ilarraza hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Morgan Flinck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zeledon Bravain having to make a save. Zeledon Bravain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johan Fristedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute, Sundborn IF's Håkan Larsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zeledon Bravain. Zeledon Bravain yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Zeledon Bravain was a little too slow when Johan Fristedt got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 2-0. Rikard Lekberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Cianca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leandro Cianca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rikard Lekberg having to interfere.

51 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Morgan Flinck came free, but Zeledon Bravain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeledon Bravain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Håkan Larsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the game, Sundborn IF's Håkan Larsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeledon Bravain made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Zeledon Bravain stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stefan Hellström's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Benjamin Fransson hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Liga de Quito's Urrutia Tacon couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sundborn IF. In the 72nd minute Johan Fristedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Bravain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liga de Quito's Leandro Cianca got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zeledon Bravain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Morgan Flinck in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to Liga de Quito getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Urrutia Tacon hit a great ball. Zeledon Bravain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Hellström in the 80th minute of play. After 82 minutes Liga de Quito's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Morgan Flinck who took care of the corner kick. Liga de Quito's Zeledon Bravain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Fristedt in the 91st minute of play.
