After a rather tough play, Leon Sport Club's Betinho Munhoz got a free kick in the 26th minute. Nova Venécia-ES's Luís Guilherme de Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. César Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leopoldo Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After a rather tough play, Leon Sport Club's Rony Lara got a free kick in the 34th minute. Guga Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Mendonça having to interfere. Víktor Figueiredo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 43rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Betinho Munhoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Leon Sport Club getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Váldson Prestes hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell César Ferreira to make the kick off. If Guga Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovani Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Victor Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Giovani Ramos in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victor Mendonça saved Leon Sport Club from getting behind. Giovani Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 75 played minutes Nova Venécia-ES got a freekick which was hit by Guga Neves. 77 minutes into the match, Leon Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Giovani Ramos came free, but Victor Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Giovani Ramos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victor Mendonça was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Giovani Ramos took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victor Mendonça. Victor Mendonça dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leon Sport Club's goalkeeper Victor Mendonça, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sandrinho Eger charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sandrinho Eger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nova Venécia-ES were furious when Christiano Dante was red carded, 89 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nova Venécia-ES fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty!
