The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tião Amaral during the 3rd minute. Andrézinho Mandrak kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, October 04's goalkeeper Diego de Toledo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelinho Dias. When Wesley Teles came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the October 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wesley Teles couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute Pedro Paulo Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexsandro Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 minutes of play, October 04's Pedro Paulo Paes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexsandro Carioca was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 21st match minute, October 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinho Antunes to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, October 04's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Arantes came free, but Diego de Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexsandro Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Paulo Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the game, October 04's Wesley Teles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alexsandro Carioca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. October 04's Diego de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão Pinheiro in the 36th minute of play. Diego de Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simão Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 41st minute, Ruy Lira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simão Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Alexsandro Carioca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toni Ramos in the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half October 04 were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wesley Teles to strike the kick off in the second half. If Wesley Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 54th minute, Fábio Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 57th minute, Marcelinho Dias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Figueira SC FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wesley Teles got free with Alexsandro Carioca in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66th play minute Wesley Teles came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alexsandro Carioca. 1-3. Diego de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Dias in the 69th minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, October 04's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Arantes came free, but Diego de Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexsandro Carioca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinho Antunes in the 77th minute. After 79 played minutes Figueira SC FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Marcelinho Dias. Alexsandro Carioca acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 80th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Toni Ramos. Pedro Paulo Paes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alexsandro Carioca came out and tried to block the shot, but Pedro Paulo Paes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 82nd minute. Waldemar Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Figueira SC FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Paulo Paes came free, but Alexsandro Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched October 04 eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
