In the 6th minute Mauro Vermudo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Ceni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The goalkeeper, Higinio Maule, was totally fooled by Divina Comédia FC's Váldson Lopes, who 12 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 14 played minutes Divina Comédia FC got a freekick which was hit by Váldson Lopes. Angelo Lalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Rogério Ceni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Higinio Maule played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Furtado in the 28th minute of play. José Paulo Negri's late challenge caught a Social y Dep. Patagonia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Paulo Negri helped the player get up and apologised. 36 minutes into the match, Divina Comédia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Maiorga came free, but Rogério Ceni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Epifanio Crescencio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rogério Ceni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Epifanio Crescencio, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. A collision led to Divina Comédia FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Váldson Lopes hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hortêncio Viana to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Social y Dep. Patagonia defense, Hortêncio Viana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Higinio Maule. The Social y Dep. Patagonia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Higinio Maule should have stopped the shot. Rene Maiorga hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Higinio Maule took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorian Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Rene Maiorga got a free kick in the 66th minute. 70 minutes into the game, Osmar Freitas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Divina Comédia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Social y Dep. Patagonia the free kick. A collision led to Divina Comédia FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Osmar Freitas hit a great ball. Freddy Toli took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rogério Ceni. Divina Comédia FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Epifanio Crescencio in the 75th minute of play forced Divina Comédia FC's goalkeeper Rogério Ceni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vito Arruda hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Divina Comédia FC's zone, Saturnino Ireno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Ceni came out of the goal and Saturnino Ireno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorian Valladares in the 82nd minute of play forced Social y Dep. Patagonia's goalkeeper Higinio Maule to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Divina Comédia FC had won after a very even match.
