Spectators: 7738 (Terracing: 5805, Seating: 1779, VIP seats: 154) Patrick Buttigieg started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. João Francisco Xavier came free with the goalkeeper in the 6th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Brandon Ellul could save by the left post. 7 minutes into the game, Colin Pullicino Orlando was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sliema Dragons FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF the free kick. After 7 played minutes Sliema Dragons FC got a freekick which was hit by Colin Pullicino Orlando. Brandon Ellul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Reis in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Xavier in the 15th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Brandon Ellul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Sean Miggiani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sliema Dragons FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sean Miggiani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Matías Cavalcante hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF's Waldemar Rodrigues got a free kick in the 25th minute. A collision led to Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Zé Terra hit a great ball. Sandro Soares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patrick Buttigieg went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF's Matías Cavalcante got a free kick in the 34th minute. Sandro Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Buttigieg in the 35th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Eduardo Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF booed when Sliema Dragons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Cassar Torreggiani didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Reis to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Zé Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Terra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brandon Ellul breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Waldemar Rodrigues hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Eduardo Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brandon Ellul came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF's Matías Cavalcante. But to his dismay, Matías Cavalcante quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Patrick Buttigieg took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Sandro Soares to make any attempt to save it. In the 83rd minute, Colin Pullicino Orlando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF's Eduardo Reis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Brandon Ellul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Francisco Xavier, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 88 minutes, Mark Polidano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sliema Dragons FC and the Onze Bravos FC - FDFDF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th match minute, Sliema Dragons FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Polidano to maneuver through the defense. The Sliema Dragons FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sliema Dragons FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
