The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Martín Palermo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Cavern Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martín Palermo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Cavern Club were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Gonzo Style f.c's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Martín Cabezon took the corner. Dennis Vanni tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Fausto Di Francesco. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-1 in the 8th minute. When The Cavern Club's Martín Palermo in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gonzo Style f.c's goalie prevented a goal. Martín Palermo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fausto Di Francesco having to make a save. In the 23rd minute Ermegildo Otsoko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Di Francesco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ermegildo Otsoko in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fausto Di Francesco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Victoriano Rojelio scored 0-3 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fausto Di Francesco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 30 minutes into the match, Victoriano Rojelio notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Gonzo Style f.c's Fausto Di Francesco. Fausto Di Francesco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Cavern Club's Martín Palermo got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fausto Di Francesco came out of the goal and Martín Palermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Gonzo Style f.c players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. The Cavern Club were winning 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martín Palermo to strike the kick off in the second half. When Gonzo Style f.c's Attilio Pellecchia in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Fausto Di Francesco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fausto Di Francesco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Rojelio in the 77th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victoriano Rojelio in the 82nd minute of play forced Gonzo Style f.c's goalkeeper Fausto Di Francesco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fausto Di Francesco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Palermo in the 83rd minute of the match.
