Daníel Moron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alf Benet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Victoriano Rebolledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the match, BK Gubbhöft's Otto Björck broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 19 played minutes Colo-Colo got a freekick which was hit by Rogelio Anders. In the 30th minute Allan Pihl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daníel Moron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, BK Gubbhöft's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Hugo Federici came free, but Rune Jansson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Colo-Colo's Daníel Moron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulf Andreasson in the 37th minute of play. Daníel Moron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Pihl, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Colo-Colo's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Björnberg came free, but Daníel Moron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute Ulf Andreasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daníel Moron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The Colo-Colo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Colo-Colo's Uriel Salcedo was substituted for Norberto Portillo. Daníel Moron made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Otto Björck sent off a good shot on target. When Washington Davalos fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colo-Colo's protests and gave Washington Davalos a yellow card for diving instead. After 81 played minutes Colo-Colo got a freekick which was hit by Washington Davalos. 86 minutes into the match, Colo-Colo's goal looked a bit too open when Otto Björck came free, but Daníel Moron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
