Spectators: 7663 (Terracing: 5748, Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 153) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Washington Davalos got the match started through his kick off. Juan Estevan Vergara kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After having played for 9 minutes, Rogelio Anders managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colo-Colo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Anders was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnau Ramos in the 31st minute of play forced Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Teodosio Cerda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Colo-Colo were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Club Deportes Santa Cruz's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arnau Ramos took the corner. Colo-Colo's Victor Hugo Federici was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Teodosio Cerda in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Matteo Escuti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Teodosio Cerda made a huge save. In the 42nd minute Clemencín Varas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinicio Pérez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vinicio Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baraquiel Livingstone in the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Clemencín Varas to make the kick off. Teodosio Cerda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Hugo Federici in the 53rd minute of play. Inocencio Mosca kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. With a little luck, Colo-Colo's Vinicio Pérez got control of the ball when Clemencín Varas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juan Estevan Vergara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinicio Pérez having to interfere. Colo-Colo's Vinicio Pérez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemencín Varas in the 86th minute of play. Teodosio Cerda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nafarroa Quililongo in the 92nd minute of play. Teodosio Cerda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nafarroa Quililongo's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
